From: Hautes Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes: Rich and earthy on the palate with vibrant notes of red berry, cherry, and violet. Stony minerality, elegant, with a lengthy finish. This wine is a real crowd pleaser!
The vineyard 'Le Prieure' is a south/southwest facing plot located in the village of Arcenant, the high-trained Pinot Noir vines grow in terraced vineyards at an altitude of 360-390 meters. Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel, followed by 10-12 months aging on the lees in French oak.
Pairing: This wine is fantastic alongside a classic charcuterie and fromage board, a seasonal mushroom risotto, or grilled/baked salmon. If you’re going to share the wine, you might as well make a meal to share with it, and this Polenta and Sausages for a Crowd (Polenta alla Spianatora) by David Tanis is sure to be a hit.
Nuiton Beaunois
It all began in 1957 in the small village of Orches, nestled beneath a limestone cliff in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune area. At the time, they were just a small group of ten or so winegrowers, who had no idea how big their venture would become. And yet these pioneers were already convinced that they would be stronger together. A few decades later, the Cave des Hautes-Côtes, the only cooperative wine cellar in the Côte d'Or region, is proud of its heritage and has expanded to include 80 members.
