At Montrose, we have always had a great fondness for rosé wines; after all, they are the emblematic wine of our family.
Vine-growers in search of elegance and conviviality, a grandmother who swears by this precious nectar, a meticulous process from the vine to the cellar, an auspicious name… the reasons for the success of Montrose rosé wines are manifold.
Today, Domaine Montrose has become a benchmark in the production of Languedoc and southern French Rosé wines. We are proud of this success, as rosé wines perfectly embody the values that we believe in and uphold.
They are wines that are meant to be shared, and are best enjoyed with friends.
Old grenache planted on pebbly siliceousclay terrace. Rolle selected on a dark volcanic hillside.
It is a «saignée» (bleeding) rosé. After harvesting, grenache and Rolle are destemmed and blended in stainless steel vats. We let them macerate for a few hours to extract the finest flavours. Bleeding juice is then fermented at moderate temperature to preserve our terroir’s expression. It is aged on the lees to enhance elegance. A small part of the blend is vinified and aged in oak barrels.
Nice pale colour. Complex nose of ripe citrus fruits, mandarin, spices. Full and delicate mouth, very elegant.
FOOD & WINE:
Enjoy it chilled on its own. Or try it with one of the recipes, Michelin star chef Adam Grey has especially created for our Rosé:
– Pan fried fed mullet with baby spinach salad and crushed caesar new potatoes,
– Hand dived scallops and roasted cobnut salad, maple syrup dressing,
– Grilled guinea fowl breast with roasted vine tomatoes and crispy ham.
