Tenuta di Lilliano is located in Castellina in Chianti, on the side overlooking the Valdelsa. The Ruspoli family, the current owners of this historic village of Castellina, has about 40 hectares of vineyards mostly cultivated with Sangiovese on clayey-limestone soils.
Tasting Notes: "Sparkling cherry with a slight garnet shimmer. Shows a fine scent of blossoms on the nose, some violet, wrapped in goji berries and ripe raspberries. Clear and straightforward on the palate, showing fresh fruit on the attack, fine-meshed tannin, firm and sturdy on the final." –Falstaff
"Aromas of red-skinned berry, iris and forest floor emerge from the glass. The bright palate offers red cherry, white pepper and cinnamon alongside polished tannins and fresh acidity. Enjoy through 2026." –Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, 90 points
"Macerated cherry and raspberry fruit is accented by wild rosemary and a stony mineral element in this red. There is a fluid feel, yet it's also firm, and the tannins emerge on the finish. Drink now through 2025." –Wine Spectator, 90 points
Pairing: Pair this wine with grilled pork, pizza, or pasta dishes.
