From: Sonoma, California, USA
Varietal: Pinot Noir
This wine comes from Kistler estate vines that were propagated over 20 years ago from small clustered low yielding clones that were imported from a Grand Cru vineyard in Burgundy. The vineyards are meticulously farmed, in order to produce wines of intense focus, and natural balance.
"A gentle touch defines our approach to Pinot Noir. We watch, and take notes, and guide more than we overtly act, or intervene. We've worked all year in the vineyard for this fruit. At the winery we simply usher it through its fermentations and into barrel as delicately as we can." –Kistler Vineyards
Tasting Notes: The 2019 comes from a cooler Russian River site and offers a complex bouquet of red currants, smoked earth, ground pepper, and exotic floral and rose hip notes. Rich, medium-bodied, and seamless on the palate, its incredibly classy as well as perfectly balanced.
Pairing: This Pinot Noir would pair beautifully with savory game or poultry dishes.
