Varietals: Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc
Tasting Notes: An amazing little Bordeaux Blanc that you could drink all day, or pair with a wide medley of cuisine. Lively and fresh lime citrus notes met with melon, a touch of green grass, and wet stones wrapped in a spritz of grapefruit and white peach.
I'm pretty sure there's some Muscadelle in the blend; there's a fantastic "grape-y" quality to this wine that would indicate Muscadelle, and it balances out the rich fruit and slight herbal notes from the vintage and initial blend of Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc.
The average age of the vineyard, formerly Clos Penot (Pian S / Garonne 33) is on average twenty years.
This extension is the result of a wonderful meeting with a couple who wanted to sell their vines while passing on their know-how acquired over many years of hard work.
