Valle Isarco, or Sudtirol Eisacktaler, is Italy's northernmost winegrowing region, nestled in the Italian Alps and the gateway to the beautiful Dolomites. It's a unique combination of German, Tyrolean, and Italian culture and German is still a primary language there.
Schiava is a native group of grape varieties often cultivated in Sudtirol, but not as often in the far north of the Isarco Valley. The production area, located at the mouth of the valley, north of Bolzano, fully meet the needs of this variety, providing the typical Schiava elegance and fruity notes that have made this red wine renowned in Sudtirol.
