From: Piedmont, Italy
Varietal: Dolcetto
The dialectal name “Augenta” derives from Latin “Augere,” which means augment, i.e. to make greater as in size, extent, or quantity. This is fitting, for the vines cultivated on this side of the hill in the Augenta vineyard, located in Ferrere in the village of Treiso, have long produced wines of superior quality.
Tasting Notes: This wine is a deep, vibrantly red ruby color whose delicate aromas reveal hints of red cherry, plum, spice, and floral notes. These notes persist into bright, focused flavors on the palate, culminating in the sensation of soft tannins as part of a long finish.
Pairing: Pelissero's Dolcetto Augenta will pair nicely with roast beef, cold cuts, sausages, white meat, pasta with mushrooms or meat sauce, and pizzas.
