From: Beaujolais, France
As implied by the name “Les Vignes de Lantignié”, this wine comes from the estate’s five-hectare vineyard located around Château du Thulon in the Beaujolais-Villages commune of Lantignié. This village is renowned for its hillsides and its granite soil, and the 12th-century chateau belonged to Jean-Marc Burgaud’s aunt, Mme Jambon.
Tasting Notes: “The 2020 Beaujolais-Villages Les Vignes de Lantignié has turned out beautifully, bursting with aromas of blackberries, spices and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, ample and succulent, with lively acids, melting tannins and a beautifully defined finish, this is worth a special effort to seek out. It's a benchmark for the appellation and the region, plus it's a terrific value.” –William Kelley, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, 92 points
Pairing: This is a perfect picnic wine, to pair with patés, terrines, rillettes, soft cheeses like Brie and Camembert, and various salads.
