From: Rioja Alta, Spain
Tasting Notes: Very intense shades of dark cardinal red, with violet tones. Aromas of fresh red fruit such as raspberry and blackberry and floral violet with subtle eucalyptus, licorice stick and clay minerals. Tones of its aging in French and American oak lightly toasted. A broad, elegant and soft mouth, with good acidity. Nice long finish feeling.
Pairing: Oinoz Crianza is a wine that pairs perfectly with Rioja-style potatoes, beans, cocido (a Spanish stew of mixed meats, sausage, vegetables and chickpeas), casseroles, white meats with sauce, roasted red meats, goat cheese and cured meats. A great holiday table wine, drink with a rack of lamb, a hearty New York strip, or simply on its own by the fire.
From the well-known sub-region of Rioja-Alta, comes this fantastic Tempranillo from famed producer Carlos Moro. Aged in French and American oak for one year, there is a richness and plush mouthfeel to balance the dark fruits, cocoa powder and sweet tobacco on the nose.
