From: Alsace, France
The Saering vineyard is one of Dirler-Cadé's four Grand Cru sites. Its name, which translates in the local dialect to "sea ring" recalls the presence of the sea and the calcareous sediments or calcareous conglomerates deposited in the Oligocene period. The wines from this place are juicy, salivating, broad, dense, with volume and great power.
Tasting Notes: "An aged Grand Cru Alsatian riesling with concentration, depth, and a persistent finish. Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of green apple, bosc pear, lychee, white nectarine, and apple blossom. On the palate, the medium sweet, grand cru riesling has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and completing with a long finish. There is midpalate complexity and a golden-fruit character that runs throughout the wine." –Reggie Solomon (January 2021)
