From: Cornas, Rhone, France
Innovation, passion and dedication are what drive Jean-Luc and Anne Colombo, whose contributions to Rhône Valley winemaking has remained unparalleled since 1984. Colombo’s innovative approach in the northern appellation of Cornas was nothing short of revolutionary; his expressive, character-driven wines have helped breath new life into this highly prestigious and acclaimed appellation.
Jean-Luc, Anne and their daughter Laure, now head winemaker, continue to ensure the production of fine wines of typicity from major appellations of the Rhône Valley, as well as the Languedoc and Provence, while maintaining sustainable farming practices.
Tasting Notes: A superb and deep ruby color. Powerful, richness, and complexity. Notes of black fruit and liquorice but also "garrigue" and minerality. Harmonious, elegant and concentrated flavors of blackcurrant, fig compote and violets. A very well balanced wine, with good structure and a lingering finish of cloves and spice. - Winemaker
95 Points - Wine Spectator (2012 vintage):
"This delivers a beautiful beam of ripe, pure plum, cassis and bitter cherry fruit notes, underscored by chalk, bay leaf, lavender and iron accents. The long, tightly focused finish shows serious grip for the vintage. Best from 2017 through 2025. 300 cases made."–JM
