Giacomo Fenocchio is a wine producer that was founded in 1864 in the heart of Barolo in the Piedmont region of Italy. The vineyards have been passed down from father to son for five generations and today are owned by Claudio Fenocchio, alongside his brothers and the house's winemaker. The Fenocchio Barolos are made in the traditional style from Nebbiolo.
Fenocchio owns plots in three different areas of the Barolo DOCG: Bussia in Monforte d'Alba, Villero in Castiglione Falletto and Cannubi in the heart of Barolo itself. The wines are aged in stainless steel for a short period of time, then moved to large Slovenian barrels for around two years, before being finished in the bottle for one year. The Barolo Riserva is a blend of grapes from each of the Barolo vineyards, whereas the other wines are single-vineyard expressions.
Giacomo Fenocchio has five other wines as part of its portfolio, one made from Nebbiolo, the others produced from Dolcetto, Fresia, Barbera, and Arneis, the only white wine in their range.
