From: San Juan Island, Washington
Varietal: 68% Pinot Noir, 9% Ortega, 23% Siegerrebe
Tasting Notes: Floral with notes of anise and brioche A beautiful example of Washington méthode champenoise made from all Cinsault. This sparkling is floral on the nose with brioche notes alongside hints of anise. On the palate, the wine has a bright acidity that leans into flavors of blood orange, grapefruit, mandarin orange zest, and lemon oil.
About. Inspired by French Champagne, Alsatian Dry Whites, and Bordeaux Reds, Shaun and Amy Salamida are striving to bring a taste of Europe to the San Juan Islands.
The wines are made with minimal intervention, with a goal of revealing the grape, terroir and story behind each glass. Shaun has a key interest in natural, unfiltered wines, with the goal of planting and farming an organic and bio-dynamic vineyard on San Juan Island.
This is not Madrone Cellars' first rodeo with traditional method sparkling wines, but it is their first release from local Bellevue Farms Vineyard.
