Tasting Notes…
Our 2020 Clos Electrique blanc retains the classic perfumes of honeysuckle, lemon curd, marzipan and citrus blossom that you have learned to love and expect from this wine. The palate mirrors the nose along with unctuous mouth feel resulting from 2 years contact with the yeast lees prior to bottling. Another vintage with ample acidity, this wine will age in your cellar easily for 10 years if you can wait that long to drink it.
Pairing: Consider richer fish dishes, pork, chicken and anything in a cream sauce or with fungi. Fish cooked in butter (like sole meunière), a buttery roast chicken, buttery sauces like hollandaise or béarnaise, the richer the better. On a chilly evening take the time to make this Skillet Chicken Potpie by Alison Roman, open a bottle of Clos Electrique, and prepare to feel rewarded!
“Our Chardonnays are truly made in the tradition of the great white wines of Burgundy. Both Abbey Ridge and Clos Electrique vineyards are planted to very rare clones of Chardonnay not typically planted in either Oregon or California. The wines are fermented with indigenous wild yeasts from the respective vineyards and finished with a French yeast to assure dryness. Both wines are fermented in older, nearly neutral French oak barrels and then left with the original yeast sediment for nearly 2 years in our cave which averages 57°F (14°C). They are bottled without filtration and generally have an aging potential of well over 10 years.” -Cameron Winery
