From: Burgundy, France
Varietal: Chardonnay
Taste: Lively and frank, this Chardonnay is an incredible value. A flinty nose opens to zesty lemon, crisp yellow apple, Bosc, and Asian pear with hints of Hawthorn. The impressive palate mirrors the notes in the glass and shows off a structured core that speaks to a wet stone minerality and a lifted saline finish.
Pairing: Their straightforwardness, vivacity, and delicate citrusy aromas make this an easy pairing with many dishes; you could even pair this with fried chicken and potato salad at a picnic. Some other fabulous matches include Trout Rillettes, lox or gravlax, baked or grilled seafood, and marinated or grilled vegetables (and, of course, anything with mushrooms— check out the recipe below). As a pre-dinner drink, this wine is a fine partner to a Mediterranean Mezze platter with quality olive oil.

About. Vignerons de Buxy was founded in Cote Chalonnaise in 1931 by a community of 98 vine growers, who, in the face of the Great Depression, sought to pool resources and formed a cooperative. The grouping of the many little family plantings, all inspired by the same values of solidarity, sharing, and conviviality, resulted in a brand representing a human and social endeavor stretching back over 89 years.
