From: Napa Valley, California, USA
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: The Caymus 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet color with a red-tawny edge. On the nose, it has that aromatically flamboyant Caymus style featuring the aromas of a French oak barrel and cassis-like tones, saddle leather, and espresso. This wine's palate is full, rich with abundant soft tannins and a hint of rustic grittiness. It has a youthful energy, making it eminently enjoyable for current drinking yet age-worthy enough to gain additional complexity over the next half-decade.
"A rich, showy style, with a very creamy texture to its mix of warmed vanilla, plum and boysenberry puree, and melted black licorice flavors. A mocha note swirls around the fruit on the finish." —Wine Spectator, 92 Points.
"Syrupy blackcurrant fruit that pushes all the correct buttons for the variety. Super-creamy and succulent on the palate – what a pleasure! French oak spice keeps pace with the fruit. It's a Napa blockbuster of the old school. (RH)" —Jancis Robinson
