From: Corsica, France
Varietals: 85% Vermentinu, 15% Biancu Gentile
Tasting Notes: Pale straw color with green tinges. The wine is mineral and rich with citrus aromas on the nose. Lively as it hits the palate, it develops into a rich, smooth, and unctuous mouthfeel. This wine has a big personality.
Pairing: This wine can be enjoyed as an aperitif and goes well with salads, seafood, shellfish and fish ‘a la plancha’, and goat cheese.
About. This wine consists of Vermentino blended with Biancu Gentile, a varietal indigenous to Corsica known for its herbal and citrus aromatics. These grapes were grown in the soil of the Costa Serena, which is characterized by its clay sediments left over by the evaporation of the Miocene sea. While Vermentino is popular throughout northwestern Italy, the grape is known as Rolle in southern France. Meanwhile, Corsicans call the grape Vermentinu to add their unique rendition.
