From: Rheinhessen, Germany
Tasting Notes: This dry Riesling is about as pretty a wine as you could wish for, with aromas of wisteria and a classic racy structure. On the palate, an undeniable salty minerality core supplemented with juicy fruit and lemon oil all equal an exuberant fun factor that never lets go.
Pairing: Bone-dry styles of Riesling from the Rheinhessen tend to pair well with mild white fish, shellfish, mild poultry, and pork.
Just a short drive south of the famous Rheingau region, along the verdant banks of the Rhine River, you’ll find Rheinhessen, the largest of Germany’s 13 wine regions. It boasts wine history that dates to Roman times and, more recently, has gained superstar status thanks to quality-minded producers dedicated to Riesling and Spätburgunder.
Spouses and business partners Julia Becker-Landgraf and Johannes Landgraf bring a rich history from both sides of their families: The Becker estate was established in 1783 and the Landgraf history reaches back to the mid-1700s! So, when Julia and Johannes combined forces to form Weingut Becker Landgraf, two of Rheinhessen’s wine dynasties were fused together. Together, this dynamic duo is steeped in centuries of winemaking experience and, with their massive push to farm sustainably, you can taste every flavorful nuance and each layered texture.
