Week of October 10th, 2017. A Barolo Offer, and wines from France, Abbazia di Novacella of Alto Adige, Champagne Barbier-Louvet, Bodegas Hidalgo, and an all Gamay-day tasting.
Have you ever thought to yourself, 'I'd love to taste as much wine as possible at Champion Wine Cellars in one week?'
No? Well, we have. Which is why we're hosting the first ever five-day in a row wine tasting where we host different regions, themes, and producers every night! It's the ticket to fun this week, and we invite you to join us on the ride. Crazy? Maybe a bit.
We wouldn't have it any other way.
Tuesday, October 10th 6 pm to 8 pm
We love the diversity of terroir and winemakers who showcase the beauty of theirs. Tuesday night will be spent highlighting both diversity and talent from France. The event starts at 6, but wines will be open at 5 pm if you're unable to make it later! As always, babies and fur babies welcome in the store.
On Wednesday evening, we'll be tasting through wines from Abbazia di Novacella's Classic Line. The wine estate has been around since 1142, founded by the Blessed Hartmann. The Augustinian canons run the monastery and operate the winery today as well. Alto Adige is one of Italy's smallest wine growing regions and produces wines with beautiful minerality and personality.
Champagne Barbier-Louvet is located in the heart of Champagne vineyards, just 15 km from Epernay and 20 km south of Reims. Their farm is located on a southern slope of Montagne de Reims, and all their champagne is made from grapes grown on their own properties, putting them in the category of "grower-producer." The property is old, and Barbier-Louvet's lineage is long. In fact, they're just about on their sixth generation of business. They were also the first 99% graded grower established in the area, making their vineyards Premier Cru.
